I would like to:
( ) donate my extra produce to Food for the Needy.

( ) receive one-on-one help from a Garden Mentor.
( ) be a Garden Mentor for a new gardener.
( ) help with children's educational gardening programs.
( ) help with adult's educational gardening programs.

I understand that I must comply with the following rules and policies in order to keep my membership for the season:

Access
The community garden is open year round, during daylight hours only. Because the garden is located in a residential area, we ask that members be respectful of our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum.

Plantings
Plantings must remain within the perimeter of the beds, and cannot shade another gardener's plot. Plants which are potentially invasive must be managed to prevent spreading.

Plot Maintenance
Raised bed soil must be prepared for planting by May 31. If garden plots will be abandoned for any reason, garden coordinator must be notified. Grass around the edges of the raised beds should be kept trimmed. When your membership is over, clear your bed of plantings and remove foreign materials like tomato cages, trellises, etc.

Paths
Paths will be mowed regularly, and should be kept clear of debris, tools, and personal items at all times.

Commercial Sales
Because our garden is located in a residential zone, all produce from the garden is for personal consumption or donation only. No sales of garden produce are allowed on or off the property.

Debris and Trash
All waste vegetable matter will be placed promptly in compost bins. No debris or trash of any kind will be left in any part of the garden. There is no on site trash service, so you must take home any non-composting trash you generate in the garden.

Tools
Community tools should be cleaned and put away in the tool shed after use. No tools will be removed from the garden. The tool shed should be kept locked at all times.

Water
When you are done watering, turn off faucets and hoses, reel up garden hoses neatly and return buckets and watering cans to the shed. Make every effort to conserve water, which is limited in supply. Members may keep a supply of water in their personal plot as long as the container has a lid.

Fertilizer and Pesticides
No fertilizer, pesticide, or weed repellant can be used that will affect another gardener's plot, or permanently affect the soil. A portion of community compost is available for each member's use.

Vehicles
No vehicles are allowed anywhere other than the gravel parking area. Use the garden cart or wheelbarrow to bring items from your vehicle into the garden.

Pets & Smoking
Pets and smoking are not allowed inside the fenced area.

Behavior
Respect other gardeners, volunteers, neighbors, and visitors to the garden. Nuisance behavior or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Trespassing on other member's garden plots, or neighbor's properties, is not allowed. Report any incidents of vandalism or nuisance behavior to the garden coordinator.

Liability
Report any potentially dangerous conditions to the garden coordinator. In signing this form you agree not to hold the Penn Yan Community Garden or Milly's Pantry responsible for any injuries to you or your guests while at the garden.

Illegal Activities
Comply fully with all federal, state, and local laws while on community garden property.
