Soil Test Results

A soil sample from the Pleasant Ave. site was recently tested by Agro-One, and the results are as follows:

Phosphorous (P): 2 lbs/acre     (Below optimum)
Potassium (K):  215 lbs/acre    (Above optimum)
Calcium (Ca): 3,769 lbs/acre    (Above optimum)
Magnesium (Mg): 595 lbs/acre    (Above optimum)

Iron (Fe): 7 lbs/acre
Manganese (Mn): 15 lbs/acre
Zinc (Zn): 1 lbs/acre
Aluminum (Al): 38 lbs/acre

Organic Matter: 4.1%

Soil pH:  6.6
Buffer pH:   6.3

FERTILIZER RECOMMENDATIONS:

Year 1 - Mixed Vegetables

Lime:  0 lbs/100 sq. ft.
Nitrogen:  0.2 - 0.3 lbs/100 sq. ft.
Phosphorous:  0.2 lbs/100 sq. ft.
Potassium:  0.1 lbs/100 sq. ft.


Another soil sample will need to be submitted to Agro-One to check for heavy metals or other soil contaminants which could pose a hazard to food crops.
